T780 overview

Overview

Flagship heavy-duty industrial model for oversized sheets and high-volume lines. Equipped with vacuum feeding system, double-sheet detection system, servo drive system and PLC touch-screen control. Ideal for large brochures, poster inserts, packaging sheets and oversized catalogues; supports large-format half, cross, gate and multi-panel accordion folds.

Two details separate it from the small-format platforms. The folding rollers are 40 mm rather than 32 mm, which spreads the same force over a wider nip and is what keeps a 1200 mm wide sheet from marking or cracking. And the structure is sized for a 1560 kg machine running continuously, with dual automatic stack-height control at the delivery.

Paper weight range 40–210 gsm with a 45 mm minimum buckle fold. 5 kW at 380 V; 4300 × 1700 × 3500 mm; 1560 kg. Typical configuration: 6H4W-F plate sets with the recirculating feeder for long production runs.

Engineering highlights

  • Large-format platform: sheets from 150 × 150 mm up to 780 × 1200 mm.
  • Engineering highlight 2: 40 mm folding rollers spread the nip pressure so wide, heavy sheets fold without marking.
  • Engineering highlight 3: 750 mm pile height and 210 m/min running speed for continuous large-format production.
  • Engineering highlight 4: Vacuum feeding system with double-sheet detection, servo drive and PLC touch-screen control.
  • Engineering highlight 5: Precision electrical control with variable-frequency stepless speed control and overload protection.
  • Engineering highlight 6: Scoring, perforating and slitting available on the same machine.
  • Engineering highlight 7: Recirculating feeder available for uninterrupted large-format runs.
  • Engineering highlight 8: 4300 × 1700 × 3500 mm and 1560 kg — plan floor loading and access before delivery.

Solutions using the T780

Technical reading

Folded product applications

Brochures and catalogues

Brochures and catalogues

Parallel, roll and gate folds in 100–200 gsm stock, folded square enough to stack flat.

Production considerations

Commercial print shops alternate between brochure, catalogue and mailer formats. Fold-pattern coverage and changeover time therefore matter alongside running speed.

T490, T600 and T780 configurations cover different sheet formats. Round-pile feeding can support longer runs on compatible T600 and T780 lines. Match the plate set and feeder to the real job mix.

Book signatures

Book signatures

Parallel and cross folds for section-sewn and perfect-bound work.

Production considerations

Publishing signatures require stable register through parallel and cross folds so sections collate and bind cleanly.

T600 and T780 configurations address different sheet formats. A compatible round-pile feeder can reduce stops on long batches. Set the fold pattern and feeder against the actual signature stock.
